TASK 1: Static Routing Configuration
To complete this task, choose the Packet Tracer files associated with the last 4 digits of your student ID.
Choose Subnet IDs and Subnet Masks according to the following rules:
1. The first octet will be always 198.
2. The second octet will be based on the FIRST TWO digits of your student ID, and the third octet will be based on the LAST TWO digits of your student ID. For example, if your student ID is 123456, then the second octet will be 12 and the third octet will be 56. The complete network ID will be 198.12.56.x. Similarly, if your student ID is 900900, then the second octet will be 90 and the third octet will be 0. The complete network ID will be 198.90.0.x.
3. Each broadcast domain in the given network will have 16 PCs that will need IP addresses. Determine subnet ids and broadcast ids for all the broadcast domains based on the number of host ids needed. Also, determine the new subnet mask. Show your calculation as part of the documentation. Use the calculated subnet ids and the subnet mask to configure routers and PCs in the assigned networks.
Configuring Routers and PCs:
Configure the routers and PCs according to the chosen Network IDs for STATIC routing. You are free to choose the interfaces on the routers and the ports on switches, if you like.
Grading for this task:
1. Misconfigured or missing PC settings (IP address, subnet mask, or gateway): -5 points for each missing/misconfigured PC settings
2. Misconfigured or missing router interface IP settings: -10 points for each missing/misconfigured interface IP setting
3. Misconfigured or a missing route: -10 points for each missing/misconfigured route
